Arts Guide to the Northeast Georgia Mountains

The first community project that GHCA undertook was to develop a brochure called "Art Guide" that we publish to promote Northeast Georgia and all the small businesses in Rabun, Habersham, and White Counties. Most small businesses do not have the advertising budget to publish brochures that can be distributed throughout the state, therefore in 2002 GHCA initiated the program of publishing an Arts Guide to the Northeast Georgia Mountains Art Galleries, restaurants, bed & breakfasts, and shops of special interest.

GHCA has continued to expand this brochure to its present 8-page fold out including maps and tour guides of each area as well as small ads for 34 businesses. The Georgia Welcome Centers promote this brochure extensively because of its community involvement. This is now a bi-yearly publication recognized by the Georgia Department of Economics and Tourism as a standard promotional tool for other areas of Georgia.

Experience Art by Northeast Georgia Authors and Artists

This is a hardbound book published by GHCA to promote the wonderful authors and artists who reside in Georgia. In the fall of 2001 GHCA advertised for the writers of Northeast Georgia to submit their written work to GHCA. Then in the winter of 2002 GHCA advertised for artists to come in and illustrate the written work. It took 2 years until the spring of 2004 to finally get all of the editing and publishing complete. The book is a beautiful coffee table type book and it is hoped that there will be future editions.
