Louise Bonadies

Clarkesville, GA

Louise became interested in painting when she enrolled in an elective course in oil painting during her senior year in college. Sadly, a fire destroyed the art building and put her painting “on the back burner,” so to speak. For many years, career and family took precedence, as paints and canvas moved from closet to closet until Louise and her husband Lou retired to Clarkesville, GA.

Inspired by various local artists, Louise started to explore drawing, craft painting, and watercolor classes and workshops offered in the area. In 2003, she began taking classes at the Sautee-Nacoochee Center Art Studio, where she has studied under Dianne Mize and Robin Miltner. She enjoys working in graphite, conte sticks, watercolor, pen and ink, oils, and pastels. Her favorite subjects include the beautiful waterfalls and woodland settings here in Northeast Georgia, landscapes from places she has visited, flowers, and pets.

Her work has been shown at the Sautee-Nacoochee Center, the Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts, the Clarkesville Library, Artistree at the Orchard, and The Copper Pot Restaurant.
