As a child I loved to paint. Painting was fun to do and fun to share. I dreamed of becoming an artist.

Later I discovered the art of puppetry. In 1972 I co-founded the Athens Puppet Theatre Company, which toured communities and schools throughout northeast Georgia for seventeen years. I sculpted and painted puppet heads, designed and painted scenery, helped write original scripts and brought puppet characters to life.

I was determined to continue the creative process when my husband and I moved from Athens to our present home on Lake Hartwell. It was time for me to study the art of painting.

It is twenty years and much study later. I still find magic in watercolor, my primary medium. I also enjoy the artistic freedom of working in acrylics, casein and pastels.

My subjects are drawn from nature, but abstract patterns are often evident. I paint the soft folds of flower petals, patterns of light and shadow on country hills and homes, coastal marshlands, towering clouds, brilliant sunsets and people.

Painting makes me happy, and my finished work is a way to share happiness with others. My childhood dream has come true. I love to paint!
