Brushdance Studio Clayton, GA Painting has always been a pleasurable part of my life. There's nothing quite like the scent of linseed oil and turpentine to get my creative juices flowing. Having had the opportunity to study with many talented and generous artists over the years, my skill with brush and palette knife has grown with each experience, so that now when I paint, I can allow my inner "voice" to be heard and trust that it's message is true and exciting. When I paint, I listen to ...and sing with... music....in particular, female four part harmony, sung barbershop-style, by Sweet Adeline choruses and quartets from around the world. (Some of my happiest years were spent singing with The City of Palms chorus in Ft. Myers, Fla.) And I love color, whether seen or heard. The contrasts of light against dark really get me going! Ultimately, hopefully, my slightly eccentric animals will bring a smile to your face and a giggle to your voice, with vibrancy and sensuality bouncing off the canvas and warming your heart. I've traveled enough trails through life to know that art which is ligh-hearted, yet beautiful, can indeed bring pleasure, wherever it may be found. |
