My name is Mary Lee Griffin. I am a 65-year-old wife, mother, and grandmother that love the arts. I was gifted with many artistic abilities and since retirement I am having the time of my life.

My husband Bradley and I operate a farm in eastern Hall County and about six years ago my husband built me an art studio. Back then I did murals, paintings, and woodcarving. About four year ago I became interested in pottery and took classes in Clarkesville at The Dirt Bag Pottery, and at John C. Campbell Folk School in N.C. Needless to say I fell in love with it and now make it my primary hobby. I have just moved into my new pottery building that my husband added to my other studio.

The name of my shop is called “Mary’s Place”.
My husband used to sing this to me. It is an old Ink Spots song that says: “Hey cab driver drive me by Mary’s Place”. My Pottery is called Peckerwood Pottery @ Mary’s Place. This is why each piece has a woodpecker on the bottom. The little community we live in is called “Peckerwood”.
