I am a self-taught artist and have been drawing since I was a child. I remember my father giving me little hints and asking me why I did some things. He never told me that he was quite accomplished in drawing figures. Perhaps it was because he drew Rubenesque nudes. It wasn't until my mother unlocked the drawer to the secretary where my father kept his drawings and showed them to me that I became aware of his talent. I never told him that I saw his drawings, but let him keep his secret.

Since then, I too have been interested in drawing figures--and everything else. There is so much beauty to be found all around us. I am a member of the Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts, where I demonstrate on
Thursdays, and the North Georgia Arts Guild. I have taught many classes in drawing, watercolor, pastel, colored pencil and pastel portraits.

It's amazing how much you see when you look through the eyes of an artist. It's often difficult to give up a painting for sale because the artist's heart is in it. Not every painting is a winner, but it surely is part of me.
