Artist Lenore Landrum Lowery

As friends and family have done for years, you too can enjoy the artistry of Lenore Landrum Lowery.

Lenore is a native Georgian and her life experiences have influenced her art greatly. It has influenced her style of painting and her preferences in painting. The first inkling that she liked to draw was when she was at Emerson Elementary in Emerson, Georgia, where she drew the red birds that the teacher had placed on the windows. From there, she moved to rural Paulding County where her father had a farm and his many talents taught her the old ways of doing things –the black smith shop, the making of oxen yolks, and the training of oxen to pull various things like logs, wagons, and the plow. This experience shaped her love for painting by gone days.

After the farm and then on to Berry College, her interest was peaked in art. Lenore married, had a family, and then decided to renew her interest in art by taking oil painting lessons from the renowned Terrie Barrier. As time went by, Lenore became interested in other mediums, which brought her to exploring the world of watercolor, acrylics, graphite, and enamels.

Lenore’s work has been exhibited in studios and galleries in Matietta, Rome, Calhoun, and Cartersville. Although her exhibiting in shows is limited, she has won a number of ribbon awards in shows such as Roselawn, Pine log, Red Top Mountain, Dallas , and the Zena Center. All of these shows have led to her talents being commissioned by people in different parts of the United States.

Lenore is passionate about looking at beautiful colors which give her much inspiration. She enjoys experimenting with different color combinations. Discovering new things, then actually painting it is a great experience, which is both calming and frustrating. Nothing is more thrilling than to like your latest painting better than those before.

Lenore’s favorite subjects to paint are scenery, flowers, still life, and people. She loves the beauty of a combination of colors and the way in which they flow. Her favorite medium at the moment is watercolor. Of course, this can change quickly.

Lenore sincerely hopes that you enjoy her work and that you will share it with your acquaintances, friends, and family.

May God Bless You!
