Patricia C. Daum can't remember a time when she didn't paint. Throughout her life, whenever a need came for her creativity, she met the challenge. However, it wasn't until sixteen years ago that she began painting as a career. Her first commissions were from acquaintances who discovered her talent for portrait painting. Shortly after that, she was offered a job as an artist for Habersham Furniture, and later was offered the opportunity to move to Orlando and start her own business as a muralist. She has created murals and decorative finishes on furniture and walls for more than fourteen years.

But her love of the North Georgia Mountains called her back here. Since her return, she has taught art at the Rabun County Senior Center, opened her own art supply shop where she now teaches acrylic painting, and has begun to paint the local scenery. Her portfolio shows a wide variety, from lovely tropical (Florida) landscapes as well as our marvelous mountains, cabins and barns, bears in the wild, to fly fishermen and their catches.

When asked how she chooses her subjects, she said "I have hopelessly fallen in love with these mountains and they are my inspiration."
