Martha Haynes
Mt. Airy, GA
I am a native Georgian originally from Savannah, Georgia with Cherokee Ancestory. I currently reside in the Bavarian Town of Helen, Georgia along with my son Dylan and husband Gabby.
I have loved art since I was a child and love creating many different art forms.
I pursued a career as a graphic artist, owning and operating a sign business where I designed logos, painted graphics, murals, etc. In 1989 I began creating portraits with no formal training. Since then I have studied and continue to study with other artists including Masters Daniel Greene and John De La Vega in order to learn new technigues. There is always new things to learn in my journey as an artist. For me capturing an image on canvas is only part of the portrait, the persons personality and wit complete the portrait. Although Portraits are my first love I have also begun expressing myself in jewelry design and construction, silversmithing and wire sculpture.
My accomplishments include a portrait of a CEO of Coca-Cola, and an NFL football player.
My awards include
Purchase Awards at The Georgia National Fair
Artist in Residence at The Georgia National Fair
First Place at Warner Robins Art Association
I am a current or past member of
Warner Robins Art Association
Fine Art Society of Middle Ga.
Middle Georgia Art Association
Atlanta Portrait Society
American Society of Portrait Painters
Board Member of the Houston Arts Alliance
My talent is a "Gift from God"
