Sandy Stryker lives in Clarkesville, Georgia. She paints on porcelain, glass, and canvas. Painting on the slick surfaces is a challenge she finds exciting and rewarding. Her favorite subjects are florals, pets, and the forest animals and birds found in the woods surrounding the log home she resides in with husband, Pat, and their Westie terrier, “the Bug”.
Sandy’s glass paintings are kiln fired for permanency and often times worked into a stained glass piece. She also paints on her slumped glass and fused glass pieces.
Her Porcelain/tile painting is the art of applying special paint to the glazed surface of an item. It is also known as overglaze painting. After the painting on the porcelain/tile has been completed, it is fired in a kiln at a high temperature that becomes a durable, cleanable surface.
