I have been a potter for over 30 years. My studio and Gallery is in the historic 116 year old Wikle House in Batesville,Ga. My inspiration comes from these North Georgia Mountains.

I produce functional stoneware which is oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe and meant to be used. I fire in a 60 cu. ft. downdraft gas kiln to almost 2400 degrees.

I make and bisque fire pots for 2 weeks, glaze for a week, load the kiln and fire. The total process therefore takes 3 weeks , start to finish. I am a production potter so this schedule is repeated year round.

Visitors are welcome to watch all phases of pottery making daily. I also have kiln openings on a regular basis. I specialize in Reduction Fired Copper Red Glazes. Please see my website www.hickoryflatpottery.com for more information. I hope you enjoy these Mountains as much as I do and will visit often!
