Two Feathers Flutes
Loganville, GA

My name is Darrell Allen and my journey with the Native American “style” flute began when I had the opportunity to attend a show at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia called “Spirit,A Journey In Dance,Drums, and Song”. This show was a Spiritually moving experience for me as I listened to Robert Mirabal play the Native American flute. When the show ended, the haunting sound of the Native flute stayed with me. I did not realize it at the time but my heart, mind, and soul were to be forever bonded to this fascinating and simple, yet complex instrument. I began looking for information on crafting my own Native style flute on the Internet as well as in Cherokee, NC. when my wife and I would travel to the Northeast Georgia mountains. To my surprise and delight I found many people out there with the same love and passion that I have for this instrument. I began attending the Georgia Flute Circle and hav
e been blessed with many friends all over the country that share this same interest with me. I have been making Native American “style” flutes out of bamboo, river cane, different woods and urban pine (PVC) for the past 9 1/2 years. My first priority is producing an extremely well tuned flute that is easy to play, but my love is the custom decorations I am known for being the inlay work I do using Turquoise, Malachite,Abalone Shell, Mother of Pearl, etc... I enjoy playing and making this instrument and hope you will decide to enrich your life with the Native American flute as I and many others have.
